When two powerhouses, The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) and Lakmé Fashion Week unit hands, the result is bound to be spectacular and thus was the showcase at FDCI x Lakmé Fashion Week 2021. The physical-cum-digital fashion week not only saw beautiful fashion films and presentations but also offered fashion regulars a chance to get back to the runway with drive-in shows. Six live showcases occurred in Mumbai with select media personnel, buyers, and influencers driving into the show in their cars to see the shows.
As fashion enthusiasts applauded from cars or behind their screens, some looks were screenshotted that we wish would magically appear in our wardrobes. The grand opening of the fashion week was by designer Anamika Khanna and her dramatic drapes and rich embroideries. While the final showcase saw Bodice by Ruchika Sachdev’s minimalistic yet playful drive-in presentation inspired by board games presented by the famous actress Ananya Pandey.

- Anamika Khanna
Anamika is known for her mastery of prints and textures. This oversized trench coat fastidious mixes the two skills the label is famous for with a smoothing palette that's perfect to take you from day tonight. The cherry on this delicious sartorial treat was the vibrant yellow cord set.

- Arpita Mehta
Arpita Mehta's look is the best in every manner. Her flirty sharara set goes a long way when the occasion focus on an Indian festival and this look is statement-making and also very lightweight and comfy. The butti print further enhances the traditional look and feel of the ensemble.

- Geisha Designs by Paras and Shalini
There's nothing dreamier and more romantic than this floor-length lilac ball gown. This ball gown should be in wardrobes, this is the best option to dress up for a romantic night or even for your parties. This one is accented with feathers and a ruffle bodice is a romance mixed with sartorial brilliance.

- Pankaj and Nidhi
A little black dress is a wardrobe staple for sure but what if you accompany it with a pretty pink dress like this one? These dual-toned, diagonal checks, frilly details, and the puffy sleeves of the silhouette are the perfect equation for summer romance.

- Ritu Kumar
This outfit is a quiet show-stealer and the eye-catching hues, the leafy embroidery, and the mini polka dots bring a traditional touch, the interesting puffy sleeves of the dress make it an unconventional perfect look for traditional as well as modern occasions.
- House of Masaba
2021 is all about increasing the level of loungewear and House of Masaba's is the perfect representation of that. This look is just the right representation of comfort, style, and quirk. All three items of this dress can be worn as separates and also both indoors and outdoors.

- Gauri and Nainika
In this unprecedented time, an escape is must needed and Gauri and Nainika just gave it to their viewers. It was very hard to pick a single best look, from their whole collection but this one got my eyes on. This dress oozes summer romance like no other, its rosy colors and delicate petal floral print are cherry on the cake.

- Bodice
When geometry and symmetry come together with multicolor is the best combination. This color-blocking outfit by Bodice is gonna be a major trend this spring. The pop of color and soft pleating of the dress is the brunching-with-my-girlfriends look.
