Essential Makeup Brushes: The Only Brushes You Need
Makeup brushes are essential for flawless makeup. Yes! I’m not going to deny it, but do we really need all these hundreds and thousands of brushes? I understand that it is justified in the case of a makeup artist because they will need a lot of brushes but what about commoners like us? We definitely do not need these many brushes. So, then what do we need? I’ll make that simple for you by listing the only brushes you need, so save up some of your money by not buying multiple brushes but rather learn how to use your brushes in multiple ways.
1) BEAUTY BLENDER/ MAKEUP SPONGE
A beauty blender can be used in a number of ways itself. Other than using it to blend your foundation, you can even blend your concealer, contour blush, and highlighter as well. It can also be used to pack loose powder on your face or under-eyes. The only thing you need to take care of is buying a blender that has many edges and sides because these edges or sides can be used for multiple purposes.
2) FOUNDATION BRUSH
For those who do not like a beauty blender, they can buy a foundation brush and use it as your contour or blush brush as well. Since foundation brushes are dense and tightly pack, they pack the product on your face easily in the case of blush and contours.
3) A FLUFFY CONTOUR OR BLUSH BRUSH
We all have seen those big fluffy brushes used for applying loosed powder or blush and even for blending your contour. What we don’t know is that you can also blend your foundation with it. Yes, if you are in a rush since these brushes are very big, they will cover a lot of surface area in one go and you will see that your foundation is blended in a matter of seconds.
4) EYESHADOW BLENDING BRUSHES
We need two eyeshadow brushes at max. One is the blending brush and the other is the tapered ended brush. These two brushes help in blending as well as packing your eyeshadows on your eyelids. The blender brush will be useful for applying crease shades as well as blending the look together, while the tapered end will be used for more detailed work that has to be done in a restricted area of your eye. In the case of shimmer shadows, your fingers work the best. Blending brushes can also be used as a nose contour or concealer brush.
5) SMALL DETAILER BRUSH
This brush is used for multiple things starting from eyeliner brush to concealing small scars or acne. Detailer brushes in general are used where other brushes are too big to fit and we need a very precise application.
