We are living in an era where everything related to skincare and makeup depends on our skin type. Whether choosing a facewash or a moisturizer or choosing the right BB Cream, everything related to the skin ends on the question, what’s my skin type? Finding out what’s your skin type is essential because it helps you choose the right products that will suit and work on your skin. If you are also one of those people who are just starting their makeup and skincare journey and still unaware of your own skin type, here are some methods to find out your skin type-
Â
Â
Â
1) Oily Skin
Â
The best method to determine if you have oily skin is to wash your face and let it dry itself. After 30 minutes, take a blotting paper and gently press it over your face. If you are able to see oil on it, your skin type is oily.
2) Dry Skin
Â
If your skin feels dry and itchy throughout the day and doesn’t have any trace of moisture at the end of the day, welcome to the dry skin family. You might also realize that your skin is not very plump and instead you feel flakes on your face.
3) Sensitive Skin
Â
Try washing your face 3-4 times a day and if it feels itchy and gives you a burning sensation or if you apply a new product and your skin immediately reacts to it, you might have sensitive skin. People with sensitive skin types are prone to inflammation.
4) Combination Skin Type
Â
Wash your face with any face wash and let your face dry. After an hour grab a blotting paper and press it all over T-Zone i.e., your nose, head, and below eyes. Take another blotting paper and press it over other areas that were left. If oil is present on the blotting paper which was only applied to T-zone, then you have combination skin.
5) Normal Skin
Â
There isn’t any specific method to determine if you have normal skin. it is difficult to define it precisely because normal is different for everyone, but normal skin can be any skin that is hydrated, doesn’t feel dry or greasy, and where pores aren’t visible.
Â
Depending upon which skin type you have you can choose products accordingly. Your skin type is affected by hormonal and seasonal changes and it may change over time, so it is really important to know about your skin type before choosing products.
