Lately, famous OTT platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+Hotstar, Sony LIV have been working on stories that are adaptations of the famous book with an impeccable aim to create a realistic and positive story impact amongst the audience.
Such works have been the talk of the town and have been a huge success!
- The Scam 1992
A Harshad Mehta story starring Pratik Gandhi opposite Shreya Dhanwanthary was launched on the OTT platform Sony LIV in the year 2020. The series was quite famous and belongs to the Crime-Drama Genre. It was based on the tragic scam of the Indian stock market that happened in the year 1992. The series is a Screenplay of the book titled The Scam: Who won, Who lost, Who got away and written by two journalists Sucheta Dalal and Debashish Basu.
The concept was well-appreciated by both, the critics and the audience and it mostly received a positive response. The French music band recreated the title song of the series and it is a big success on YouTube!
- Afsos
Directed by Anubhuti Kashyap, Afsos is a comedy web series starring Gulshan Devaiah, Sulagna Panigrahi, Anjali Patil, and Heeba Shah. The show tends to unravel the life of a man, who is so depressed that he wishes to commit suicide. But, in a chain of events happening alongside and despite many attempts he is unable to do so.
The plot is presented well in the series and is worth the time as there are many lessons to learn from the series, says the fans and viewers!
- A Suitable Boy
One of Netflix's popular series that aired in the year August 2020, was a suitable boy. It was a Romantic Drama Series that revolved around the story of a young girl Lata, who has to select a suitable groom between her suitors Kabir, Haresh, and Amit. The director Mira Nair cast Ishaan Khatter, Tabu, and Tanya Maniktala in the series, and the combination surprisingly the casting turned out to be quite amazing.
Adapted by Vikram Seth’s novel the series was an emerging hit and the story’s construction was quite liked by the audience.
- A Married Woman
ALTBalaji’s “A Married Woman” is a story that focuses on the lives of two women who fell in love with each other upon various destined interactions. The two actors Ridhi Dogra and Monica Dogra were cast as the protagonists and the plot tried to revolve around the concept that love is above all, even above gender!
To develop a sense of compassion among lesbians the series was presented and was an adaptation of the novel “A Married Woman” by Manju Kapoor.
- Chakravyuh
One of the mind-blowing Indian series, Chakravyuh stars Prateik Babbar, Simran Kaur Mundi, Ruhi Singh, Karan Raj, Rohan Joshi, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Shiv Pandit in the lead roles. It was an eight-episode thriller series that was a screenplay based on cyberspace. Before watching this show, ask yourself how will you react if one day you wake up and find a person is tracking you and all your moves, how will you react and what will you do?
The film is a conversion of the novel “Anti- Social Network” written by Piyush Jha and directed by Sajit Warrier.
The trend of the astonishing OTT platform series is based on the novels is rising, surprising audiences, and gaining huge appreciation!
