The beauty industry at this point has so many products that we don't need any more launches for at least a few years. You might feel why this statement and what it’s got to do with the title? Well, what we mean by it is we already have way more than enough products for everyone. Launching more and more products by every other brand is not working out a lot for us as consumers and at times it just feels too repetitive. We might feel blessed that we have so many brands and a lot to choose from but then if we think it through do we really need all these products? Look back at your vanities or where you store your makeup. How many products are we using on a daily basis? Even if we buy a lot of products we just stick to our regulars for the most part.
So to make things brief, you don’t need to buy everything on the shelf especially if you’re on a budget. You can use one product in multiple ways. Budget or no budget you should always buy multipurpose products whenever you can but since today’s topic is dedicated to people who are on a budget, here are some products you can multitask with:
● MAKEUP BRUSHES
You don’t need to splurge a lot when it comes to makeup brushes or buy varieties of beauty blenders. You can use a handful of brushes in multiple ways. Check out our other article to know more in detail about the essential brushes you need and you’ll be sorted.
● FOUNDATION AS CONCEALER
This is something most of us already do especially on an everyday basis or when in a rush. You can use your regular foundation as well, but in case you really want to cut down on steps and expense, you can invest in a 2 in 1 foundation + concealer product which will keep you sorted for a long while.
● BABY POWDER AS SETTING POWDER/BAKING POWDER
Yes! You read it right. You can use your kids’ powder as your setting powder and even use it as a loose powder for baking under the eyes. Baby powders are widely available, inexpensive, and work the same as compact powders, so you can definitely go for this option.
● EYESHADOW AS CONTOUR
Brown eyeshadows are mostly present in every eyeshadow palette. You can make it work as a contour by lightly applying it on the hollows of your cheeks and on the sides of your nose and then blend it gently. This will give you a soft yet precise contour.
● PETROLEUM JELLY AS HIGHLIGHTER
For people who are more into dewy and natural highlights, you can always use petroleum jelly as your highlighter. Just apply it to the high points of your face and it will give you a beautiful dewy highlight. In case you want to amp it up a little, mix your shimmer eyeshadow similar to a highlighter shade with vaseline, and it will give you a much more blinding highlight.
